<title>Project Manager II - Business Intelligence</title>
<description>&lt;div&gt;Manages global business intelligence projects. Provides the leadership for functional and/or technical analysis, development, and implementation of enterprise business intelligence capabilities.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Provides timely portfolio status updates to the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Responsible for assembling project teams, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources, and developing plan and schedule to ensure timely completion of projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Effectively coordinates the activities of internal and external resources in a matrix environment with cross Global Business Unit (GBU) partners.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Follows standards in all projects as set forth by the Enterprise PMO.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Provide daily operational and user support as needed .&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Communicates with Enterprise PMO and business executive management regarding project status.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Works with senior business management and IS Leadership Team (ISLT) to establish priorities among identified projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Participates in all corporate programs as directed by the Enterprise PMO and senior management in the Global Information Systems (GIS) organization. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Executes, in the form of projects, multi-year process enablement roadmaps aligning with S&amp;amp;N global strategy and technology standards.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Works closely with business partners across multiple business units to define business requirements, determine functional approaches and align business intelligence projects with overall company strategic objectives.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Implement process improvements and support organization change management efforts as necessary to sustain change and realize benefits related to assigned projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Work with business partners and IT department representatives to drive resolution of cross-GBU, cross-GIS issues and manage risk for assigned projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Leads global, distributed, cross-functional teams assigned to deliver benefits to the business.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Complies with Enterprise PMO methodology to track, measure and phase gate review project metrics, schedule, budget and issues.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Promote effective communications between the core teams, extended teams and the rest of the organization.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Supports and adheres to all policies, procedures and standards, including GIS Guiding Principles, Project and Change Management processes, Internal and External Health &amp;amp; Safety, Quality, Regulatory and Finance compliance, and support of Internal and External Audits.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Prepares and builds business cases for proposed projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Leverages informal and formal contacts to overcome conflicts and blockages.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Skilled at internal/external consulting and relationship management.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution, issues and change management.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Understanding of legal issues and dealing with their resolutions for the enterprise projects.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally as well as written, to diverse groups at all organizational levels.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For Funds, Costs or Profits: Accountable to business and ISLT sponsors for successful project execution within budget and schedule. Budget authority up to $5 million.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For Supervision: Directs and manages global, multi-cultural, virtual teams in order to successfully execute projects. Projects affect multiple global locations. Project teams may exceed 30 FTE in a globally matrixed organization.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
For Internal and External Relationships: Works in a matrixed organizational role reporting, for project purposes, to both GIS and business executive management. Communicates and works with GBU business and GIS VP/Group Director/Directors and Managers on a daily basis concerning strategic, operational and tactical issues impacting project solution delivery, business processes, applications and systems. Supports executive level meetings as required. Coordinates and negotiates with external vendors when necessary to resolve systems issues or explore future capabilities.&lt;br /&gt;

With a technical background and proven web/online software development experience, the Web Architect is uniquely qualified to understand the big picture of development and translate that into technical requirements and schedules. The Web Architect works with the development team as an independent auditor, consultant, and director. Key Responsibilities&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Reporting to the CTO of the group, implement his guidelines in Web technology choices, Web systems design and SDLC implementation.&lt;br /&gt;
- Working with producers, map product designs to engineering requirements and ensure proper implementation of product features in all Web projects.&lt;br /&gt;
- Working closely with the Development Director, lead the Web team and provide technical leadership on existing and future Web projects.&lt;br /&gt;
- Working with the Web team engineers, co-design, influence and approve software architecture; write technical briefs and other design documents and ensure that design is reviewed.&lt;br /&gt;
- Oversee the application of the approved SDLC for all Web projects' milestones. Work with producers on requirements, engineers on coding and unit testing, QA staff on testing, release team on builds and releases and operations team on deployment.&lt;br /&gt;
- Be accountable for Web projects' code quality; ensure that code is properly reviewed, is reusable and testable.&lt;br /&gt;
- Bear responsibility for overall software performance; defining metrics and setting targets.&lt;br /&gt;
- Oversee all internal and external project technical dependencies, risks and critical paths; ensuring contingency plan is in place; recommending solutions and approving plans &amp;amp; timelines; understanding overall impact on all stakeholders.&lt;br /&gt;

Required Technical Skills and Experience&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;NOTE: The technical requirements for this role have changed slightly.&lt;br /&gt;
Initially, the Web Architect position required a split of PHP (70%) and JAVA OR C/C++ (30%).&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;This has changed now to 70% Java OR C/C++ and 30% PHP experience. The CTO inherited the PHP technology framework already in place&amp;nbsp;at our client&amp;nbsp;and is looking to change this. Essentially he feels that the person should have some understanding of PHP, but should be a solid software engineer with proven Java OR C/C++ skills.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;
- B.Sc. /M.Sc. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent training and professional experience.&lt;br /&gt;
- A minimum of 10 years industry technical experience&lt;br /&gt;
- 5+ years experience with Java and/or C++. Knowledge of Python and Ruby would be beneficial.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Solid knowledge of front-end Web technologies including HTML, DOM, JavaScript, and CSS.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;- On the front-end it is important to know at least one JavaScript framework. YUI (Yahoo User Interface) is the best since we are using it. Others are acceptable including JQuery, MooTools, Scriptaculous, Prototype, Dojo and ExtJS.&lt;br /&gt;
- Knowledge of Web graphics, video streaming and FLASH.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
- Strong knowledge of relational databases - MySQL, Postgresql and Oracle preferred.&lt;br /&gt;
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective software engineering practices with a thorough understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle.&lt;br /&gt;
- Project management skills demonstrated by the ability to define tasks in a well organized manner, based on proper resource and time management.&lt;br /&gt;
- Excellent detail-oriented, problem solving skills. Candidate must be able to quickly identify issues and resolve them.&lt;br /&gt;
- The TD must be able to understand and (ideally) perform any task performed by programmers.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Additional Skills:&lt;br /&gt;
- Game development experience is not required, but would be an asset.&lt;br /&gt;
- Prior experience in a Lead role or in a Software Architect capacity is required.&lt;br /&gt;
